Our Commitment to Social Responsibility
Social Responsibility is integral to our spirit and culture. Since our inception in 1999, we have been committed to delivering on this value as both a business and community leader. The mission of our corporate philanthropy is to achieve impact by providing financial, intellectual and human capital to select nonprofit partners that align with our business priorities and inspire our employees. By focusing on a portfolio of high-impact organizations where our employees live, work and volunteers, we support the causes that are most importation to our employees. Our approach has evolved over time and become more focused. Through the creation of longer-term nonprofit partnerships, we are better equipped to track - enhance - and impact our engagement with them.

Board Leadership Program:
We have established a Board Leadership Training Program to empower senior staff to engage in their communities by serving on local nonprofit boards. Program components include structured board candidate training, placement that matches staff skills and interest with nonprofit needs, continued education and resources, financial support, opportunities for company-backed hands-on and pro-bono services. Donating our staffs time and skills is often more valuable than donating just financial capitol. By coupling the intellectual capital of the firm and focusing on a selection of organizations, we are able to achieve far greater impact than by giving dollars alone.

Acumen Solutions Race for a Cause:
The Acumen Solutions annual Race for a CauseTM 8K and 1 mile Fun Run Race help to increase awareness and raise funds to local community organizations. All registrants get to choose which organization they wish to support from our portfolio of nonprofits. The race builds stronger relationships across Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. community by bringing local nonprofit partners together with our sponsors. The Race for a CauseTM is a prime example of how community outreach and involvement can make an impact that grows every year.

Project Services:
Acumen Solutions partners with our Nonprofit Portfolio organizations to provide business and technology expertise to enhance the organizations infrastructure. Employees leverage professional skills in the community to solve critical challenges. The Pro Bono projects provide mutual benefits: employees learn about nonprofits and gain professional and personal rewards and the nonprofits increase their capability to serve the community.

Financial Support:
Our offices partner with our nonprofit partners, as well as other organizations with pressing needs, then rallies our employees to help support one of many causes. Efforts ranging from landscaping improvements, adopting families for holidays, school book drives, children’s carnival days, to teaching beginning computer skills. For more individualized efforts, we provide financial sponsorships to employees who are committed to their personal community causes. Our employees are encouraged to volunteer and we make it easy for them to engage. Providing a diverse platform of giving back opportunities is a good match for the diverse employee and geographic footprint of the company.
