Seven Hills, OH – November 8, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) –Acumen Solutions, an international leader in cloud computing, mobile and enterprise consulting, announced today that they will hold an Open House at their 1-year-old on-shore Technology Center in Seven Hills, Ohio, which is just outside of Cleveland. Acumen Solutions welcomes local businesses and political leaders to tour the facility, learn about their decision to locate in the Cleveland area rather than overseas and to see first-hand their world-class cloud computing, support operations, and innovative solutions. Attendees at the event will include local clients, politicians, recruiting candidates and senior executives from Acumen Solutions as well as from their partners, such as Salesforce.com. Acumen Solutions has hired 40 people and is on track to create 80 new jobs in Cuyahoga County, Ohio by the end of 2012. At this Technology Center facility, Acumen Solutions provides new development of cloud computing applications for Fortune 500 and government clients as well as post production support of customized cloud computing applications. These applications are developed on Force.com for clients such as Comcast, Carlyle Group and New York City Department of Education. By design, Acumen Solutions’ cloud computing development approach occurs in short time frames and in a highly collaborative environment with the client so it made sense for the firm to staff in an affordable location, which would still be close to their clients. Acumen Solutions supports global consulting clients from their offices across the U.S. and in Europe, and since Cleveland is in the Eastern Time Zone it can easily support the business hours of those client locations. Industry analysts predict the need for qualified cloud computing experts to increase 10 fold within the next three years. Acumen Solutions has found that in Ohio they are able to rapidly identify and hire for positions in cloud computing, mobile computing and other innovative web technologies that meet their client’s rising demand for these solutions. “We decided a year ago that Cleveland made more sense than looking to create an ‘off-shore’ development center. Ohio offered a lower cost infrastructure, highly educated candidates, and tax and training incentives which made it a very attractive location from which to drive jobs in America and deliver better quality of service to our clients,” said Mary Beth Kush, Senior Director, Acumen Solutions Technology Center. “Over the past 12 years of conducting on-shoring vs. off-shoring studies for our clients and for our own internal use, we concluded that companies ultimately pay more than what they would have paid for a project delivered on-shore AND have to wait twice as long to benefit from it.” |
