The effort began with an extensive comparison of existing business rules (which the system was required to meet) and functionality of the current, ineffective Royalties distribution system. This produced a set of requirements to which Acumen Solutions pros could adhere as they stabilized the system and moved toward accurate royalty distribution. With the requirements finalized, Acumen Solutions was able to manage the design, development, testing, and deployment of the system, which was built on an Oracle 8i database residing on a Sun-Solaris server, utilizing Java and stored procedures. But system evolution has not stopped there. Acumen Solutions is currently working to identify new performance requirements, further re-architecting the Royalties Administration system and giving the client the ability to add new and complex business rules surrounding royalties and royalty payment.
