Sprint Stars at Dreamforce

by acumendonita 20. November 2009 13:30

Congratulations to our long time client, Sprint.

We were proud to have helped them rollout their first 2,500 seats in 2005.  Now they have grown to 15,000+.

Yesterday (Thursday, Nov 20th) Paul Eide presented Taking Your Cloud-Computing Implementation to Phase 2 and Beyond.

No video yet but watch their Dreamforce 2008 presentation here;

IT friendly CRM

by acumengary 19. November 2009 19:07

Comparing Dreamforce to just a few years ago I am struck by the number of sessions and resources available for IT managers and executives. I am sitting here in the "Security in the Cloud" session presented by Jim Cavalieri. Jim has helped Acumen (on at least one occasion I know of) get customers up to speed on the depth and breadth of Force.com security features, so I thought it made sense to see what the session was like.

Jim is walking attendees (self described IT folks) through the Force.com portfolio of security features, hardened infrastructure, certification and best practices. This is the stuff that CxOs typically need to understand, not too different from what they present to the board of directors, auditors and their peers. It looks like Salesforce.com has been listening intently to corporate clients who have been asking for this kind of information and looking carefully at salesforce.com's track record.

(A few hours later)  Personally, as a former IT executive and proponent of SaaS empowerment, I am a big fan of the IT Executives track and I hope it remains a staple of Dreamforce. The ability to do one stop shopping for information, network with peers and vendors and get face time with the people (like Jim) who provide the services is huge. It would be really helpful to have some deep dive Q & A sessions too - let's hope this track continues to mature and grow.

Dreamforce Session Suggestions

by acumenbullotta 16. November 2009 17:26

As I sit on my flight to San Fran enjoying free WiFi (cheers to Virgin Atlantic), I am refining my personal Dreamforce schedule via the attendee portal and thought I'd share some sessions I recommend.  I found myself double and triple booking with so many great sessions going on.  Here's a few you may want to consider depending on what you are looking to get out of your Dreamforce experience.  Regardless of what you choose, be sure to check out a handful of sessions, visit the Expo, join the social events and take advantage of all that this top notch conference has to offer!
